When one wheel steadily meshes with the other on a highly polished, chic miniature steam train, it’s a joy for everyone who loves these fabulous mechanical rhythms. And great fun for audiences young and old, who are invited to climb aboard and ride along.

Welcome to the world’s largest live steam indoor meeting in Friedrichshafen! Here, fully functional steam-powered models of railroads, road vehicles, ships and stationary installations are presented in a unique variety.

The heart of the cult event of all steam locomotive enthusiasts is the world’s largest 5 inch and 7 ¼ inch track layout of more than 4 km in length, walkable for visitors! Delicate technical marvels of mechanics from a bygone era, such as fancy locomotives and locomobiles, move here in miniature through Halls B2 and B3 at Messe Friedrichshafen. Pure steampunk, say the freaks. It steams, smokes, rushes, glows and hisses. And it just makes you feel really good.

The anticipation for Europe’s model making highlight with the Faszination Modellbau and the Echtdampf-Hallentreffen is enormous! The next mega-event will take place from Friday to Sunday, Oct. 31 – Nov. 2, 2025 will once again take place at the bright and friendly exhibition center in Friedrichshafen in the attractive border triangle of Germany, Switzerland and Austria!
